Stamford Fireworks Bring Parking Bans, Road Closures: What To Know
Stamford’s July 4th fireworks celebration will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Cummings Beach, with festivities beginning at 6 p.m. and fireworks expected to begin shortly after sunset–around 8:30 p.m.
Parking restrictions will begin at 2 p.m. on July 2, according to the City of Stamford’s Facebook post.

A New York man pleaded guilty to robbing the same convenience store he was previously convicted of robbing six years earlier, authorities announced Wednesday, July 1.
Willie Buxton, 50, of Albany, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery in exchange for a sentence of 16 years to life, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
Buxton entered an Xtra Mart at 247 New Scotland Avenue around 8 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2025, flashed a knife and demanded cash from the store clerk, authorities said. The worker handed over $300, and Buxton ran away, according to investigators.

Wilton July 4 Plans Include Parade, Fireworks, Road Closures
Wilton will mark the nation’s 250th Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with a morning parade, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and an evening fireworks show.
The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. with a parade through the center of town, according to a Wilton Police Department press release.
The parade will start from the parking lot behind the Starbucks building and head north on River Road, Old Ridgefield Road, and Hubbard Road before ending at the Wilton Town Green.
